Heaven on Earth Cake

Heaven on Earth Cake

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 prepared angel food cake
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant cheesecake pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream (or Greek plain yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (30 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 container (8 ounces) cold whipped topping
  • 1 tablespoon roasted almond slices (optional)
  • Directions:
  1. Cut the angel cake into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In a 13×9 inch baking dish, arrange half of the angel cake cubes in an even layer at the bottom of the dish. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake.
  4. Repeat with another layer of cake cubes and cherry filling.
  5. Pour the prepared pudding mixture over the cake layers, spreading it evenly.
  6. Top with the cold whipped topping, spreading it into an even layer.
  7. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.
  8. Before serving, sprinkle the top of the cake with roasted almond slices, if desired.
