  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 125 milliliters of milk
  • 250 grams of flour, plus extra for kneading
  • 1 teaspoon of dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 scoops of mozzarella
  • Pepper, dried Italian herbs, and chili flakes for sprinkling
  • Some oil for shaping

  1. Begin by whisking the egg and melting the butter. Heat the milk in a saucepan until it reaches a lukewarm temperature.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, dry yeast, sugar, egg, melted butter, lukewarm milk, and salt. Use the dough hooks of a hand mixer to initially blend the ingredients, then knead the mixture by hand until it forms a smooth, very soft yeast dough. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and allow it to rise for approximately 1 hour, or until it has doubled in volume.
  3. While the dough is rising, cut the mozzarella into strips.
  4. Once the dough has risen, knead it again with a little flour and shape it into a ball. Preheat the oven to 210°C (top and bottom heat).
  5. Place the dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and shape it into a round patty with a diameter of approximately 25 centimeters, using a little oil on your hands to prevent sticking.
  6. Using your fingers, create 4 circular indentations of different sizes in the dough. Fill these indentations with the mozzarella strips. Sprinkle the entire party bread evenly with ground pepper, dried herbs, and chili flakes for seasoning.
  7. Bake the prepared bread in the preheated oven until it turns golden brown, which typically takes about 20 minutes.
